This triptych depicts the event of the Transfiguration of Jesus as described in the Gospels. Moses and Elijah appear on the side of Our Lord and the Apostles, Peter, John, and James are on the ground. The wings depict events from the the lives of Moses and Elijah.

The panel is made of African mahogany and the painting is in egg tempera with 23.75 carat gold-leaf.
